According to an article released from the Associated Press, health officials have said, “swine flu cases seem to be declining throughout most of the U.S.”.  But that doesn’t mean we are all in the clear of catching the flu this holiday season.

In Robin Shreeves article “Avoiding the flu at holiday parties” she provides many helpful tips to prevent the spread of germs for people who are either hosting a Christmas party or just attending one.

Tips for those hosting a Christmas party:

  • Provide a way for people to identify their drinks
  • Give every dish a utensil
  • Provide plenty of soap in the bathroom and disposable hand towels
  • If someone in your household becomes sick before the party it is best to cancel and reschedule

Tips for those attending a Christmas party:

  • Wash your hands often
  • If you need to cough or sneeze, walk away from the crowd
  • Don’t let anyone else drink out of your glass
  • Keep your hands out of the community food bowl
  • Keep the hello greetings kisses to a minimum, it is best to kiss on the cheek
